Throughout his career, Shervin Pishevar has held a number of prestigious titles and garnered a myriad of honors and accolades. He was the Managing Director of Sherpa Ventures, as well as its co-founder, an angel investor, and one of the top venture capitalists in the nation. Prior to starting the San Francisco-based venture capital firm, Shervin Pishevar acted as the Managing Director and Venture Advisor at Menlo Ventures, serving there from 2011 to 2014.
During his time with Menlo Ventures, the venture capital firm was responsible for over $4 billion, working in conjunction with several major companies, including Uber, Tumblr, and Warby Parker. Mr. Pishevar also played an integral role in the launching of the Menlo Talent Fund, which was started in 2011 as a seed fund, and managed $20 million. Early in his career, Shervin Pishevar specialized in launching several technology-based companies, including the Social Gaming Network and Webs.com, for which he was the President and Chief Executive Officer. Since graduating from the University of California, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, he has invested in over 60 companies regarding the social commerce, media, and Ad tech sectors.
At 21 years of age, Shervin Pishevar helped to author an article that helped to bring about the implementation of the Istanbul Protocol, which concerns the formal documentation of torture, after it was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Shervin Pishevar was recently recognized by the United States Government as an Outstanding American by Choice, an honor that has only been given to 100 naturalized citizens since its inception. He is also an active member of the Global Entrepreneurs Council, and at President Obama’s summit regarding entrepreneurship, held in Algeria, he was a keynote speaker. He continues to build his international resume and is currently an entrepreneurial ambassador to Russia and several countries in the Middle East.
