Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA)teams up with National Football League Alumni Association (NFLA) and LabCorp to bring prostate awareness to the general male public. Starting at the end of September through October 15th men will be able to schedule a PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) with any location LabCorp in the United States. The first 2,000 men registered will receive their PSA screening for free, after the 2,000 limit is reached, low cost screenings of $25.00 per test during the initial sign up period. An abnormal PSA may not mean cancer, but should be followed up with the patient’s regular physician.
CTCA is also pairing with the NFLA, hosting a series of events at each of the CTCA hospitals, Tulsa, Chicago, Phoenix, and Atlanta. Present and past NFL members will be making appearances at each event promoting “Prostate Pep Talk”, a joint project that educates men on the importance of getting the prostate checked.
